By using The Garden you agree to a small handful of things. We've tried to keep them human.
You confirm you are 18 or older when you create an account. We do not knowingly accept accounts from anyone younger. If we learn an account belongs to a minor, we delete it without notice.
Anything you write, draw, photograph, or upload into The Garden remains yours. By placing it here you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and display it solely so The Garden can function — show it to you on your windowsill, show it to people you've explicitly opened it to, render it inside conversations. That's the entire scope. We don't licence your content to anyone else, don't use it for advertising, don't train models on it, don't analyse it for advertising profiles.
The Garden only works if people feel safe being known here. You agree not to:
If you break these, we may suspend or close your account without a long process. We don't have a formal appeals process yet; if you think we got it wrong, email us and we'll consider it.
We may need to pause The Garden occasionally for maintenance. We'll try to give notice. If we ever shut it down for good, we'll give you a way to take your data with you — at minimum a JSON export of everything tied to your account.
The Garden is currently free to use. If that ever changes, we'll tell you before charging. We don't carry advertising and don't intend to — if monetisation comes, it will be a transparent paid tier or supporter contribution, not surveillance.
The Garden is provided as-is. We don't guarantee it'll be running every minute of every day, that conversations will load instantly, or that everyone you might want to know is here. To the extent the law allows, our liability for anything that goes wrong is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months — which, currently, is nothing.
If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll show you the new ones at next sign-in and ask you to accept them before continuing.
This document is a working draft. It reflects the spirit of how the product is run today, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before depending on it for compliance, please have a lawyer in your jurisdiction review and adapt it.
